Watched Escape from LA last night and I don't think I will ever bother watching that one again. Bad acting dreadful storyline and bloody awful cgi, in fact I would say this film should have never been made. Escape from New York was not bad but when you put it up against this it makes NY look even better.

Went out last night to show my film to my mate and he gave Split Second the big thumbs up.

Not a movie, but a good documentary for those interested in sailing.
"Deep Water" - A documentary about the disastrous 1968 round-the-world yacht race

Really good, but sad story.
8/10

Few films I watched over the last week, first up "TheEagle" bit of a odd story but on the whole not bad.

The Eagle Movie Trailer Official (HD)

Tom Cruise in "Valkyrie" not bad but I like the German one more, can't remember if it was made before or after Cruises one.

And finally last night "SPECTRE" at last got to see Daniel Craig as Bond in his fourth outing and I liked it, nice touch having all four films linking up.

Many of the scenes in the Quadrilogy version of the Assembly Cut suffer from bad audio because the scenes were cut before audio work was finished (what you hear is on-set audio).

In the Anthology version, the bad audio has been fixed by re-recording the dialogue with the same actors and cleaning up the background noise.

Thanks Dowly.

I did a search for latter releases and the comments were off putting, people were moaning about poor transfer or this and that, one comment said the original ALIEN Quadrilogy which I have is still the best.

BTW: Can you play Blu-ray in a normal DVD Player and what is the sound and picture like?

Just spent a pleasant afternoon viewing The Imitation Game, Spectre and The Revenant.

Feeling quite relaxed now.

I watched "A Gathering of Eagles" probably close to 45 years ago and it wasn't till about a year ago that I saw it again. Funny how things from so long ago stick in your head. This one scene for example really made a great impression back then and young as I was, I still appreciated the skill and dedication required to pull it off:

Just watched "Interstellar" with Matthew McConaughey. I liked it. Epic space movie reminiscent of "2001 A Space Odyssey" in many ways. Well acted, beautiful soundtrack, visually stunning and a compelling plot line.

Might be a little slow paced for action movie fans though.
