Can you order specific depths and courses or do you have "steer the boat" yourself manually?

Thank you for taking the time and showing some of the features.

I'm happy with what was shown and can't wait for release.

the flag

the officer of the deck

"Permission to come aboard and get this party started already."

WASD control only, unfortunately
A dev did mention that if the community requested an alternate method they would consider adding it.
For me personally, my anticipation went from 100% to 60% when I found out it was WASD only control. Will wait to see what the reviews are like before buying it now as opposed to instant buy.

If they do add a commanders order system, then it will be at 100% again.

They simply can add it later, dont get it why people go nuts about it. Give some constructive input on how they should implement it rather panicing about it.

I'm hardly going nuts, just expressing my opinion.
And as I said a +1 for the devs for listening to opinions and possibly the introduction of alternate controls at a later date.

Thanks Wulfen! It's not make or break for me, this looks awesome from what I've seen so far. I've been wanting a "Captain sim" for quite a while now. Truly being in command solving tactical issues and having your crew do what crews do. In that regard the whole driving the boat does detract a bit but it's not the end of the world as far as I am concerned. We'll see if this is it, but it looks like it's a good way there anyway.

The main reason we went for manual control is because it actually gives you much better control over the boat and much quicker reaction time than you have in DW. The reasons why become apparent when you start taking damage and must fight to maintain depth control, especially when you do not wish to risk cavitating, or when you have to evade enemy fire.

Cool! Looking forward to trying it out! Hope Steam can get their stuff together so we can all play soon.
