Hawk's newboat tool-disagrees with SH SE tool?

Hi,

I want to try playing most of the war using the Narwhal class but there seems to be a disagreement between Hawk's tool and the SE tool regarding date of availability of the Narwhal class. The SE tool says that Narwhal class is available from 12/41, whereas Hawk's tool will not let me switch to Narwhal class even tho the file is 01/42. Has anyone else tried this?

I haven't played SH1 in a long while, but I seem to remember running the V-boats right at the start of the war. I could be misremembering.

Now you have me curious. I might have to load it up and see for myself.

Yes SHCE will let you make a mission using SE tool and use Narwhal at 12/41, however Hawk's newboat tool won't let me use Narwhal in my career yet even tho my the career I made for the purpose is 01/42 in port. Hmmm

USS Narwhal shot down an aircraft Dec 7 at Pearl so that is strange, not being available .... I don't recall that problem.

These are the dates the Pacific Thunder Campaign used:
(and Hawk was a founder)

(SS-166) USS ARGONAUT - First Patrol, Dec-41
(SS-167) USS NARWHAL - First Patrol, Dec-41
(SS-168) USS NAUTILUS - First Patrol, May Jun-42 (Battle of Midway)
