Alot of time goes into making them so the costs are usually going to be up a bit to cover all that time..especially with anything of any quality. |

HI,
In Japan now very popular prepainted toys, But bad thing is onece we miss buy it we cant buy it for ever This is "sekai no kansen series (ships of the world)" producted by Takara. In japan we can buy it only 3 US$. But it contain in blined box so you cant choose what you want to. So we have to buy many of thease toys. I think you can buy it by internet auction in already opened (so you can choose what you want!!!) ,or I tink some of them has imported to another country. It is worth to try to make effort. http://www.takaratoys.co.jp/ Company HP There is a lot of 1/700 sub and 1/144 mini subs. http://www.takarahobby.com/new/0312-...rld/index.html Series 1 rereased 2003 Dec http://www.takarahobby.com/new/0405m...rld/index.html Series 2 rereased 2004 May http://www.takarahobby.com/new/0503m...rld/index.html Series 3 rereased 2005 March http://www.takarahobby.com/new/0507m...rld/index.html Series 4 rereased 2005 July (may be you can buy series 4 easy becase it is recent rerease I think some of them left in some hobby shop in japan) click each sub and ships so you can see big photo. I have U-XXI and uss grayback. I have camera so I can show you more detail about this toys, but I don't know how to up photo here. |

I know there's a company in the states who sells wooden subs prebuilt and painted... Just give me some time to dig up the link.
Update: A bit more money than I remember, I don't think this is the one, I konw someone produces wooden models that retail under $100 http://www.scalecraft.com/index.asp?...S&Category=296 |

Thank for all of your responses and Help I really appreciate all of the links!! and Pm's I'm thinking I might as well just build one, Some of the companies that have prebuilt that they are selling for $600 to $2000 dollars don't have all that much detail and fine detail painting I mean look at the Guns and other details on this Model for $2000 http://www.motionmodels.com/ships/type7c.html
I mean it's nice looking but I guess for $2000 I would expect a little more details, I did like the Idea of the Japanese toys but I couldn't find a Type 7 or 9 U-boat. I'm just gong to have to cutting to my computer and wife time time to make one. Thanks for all your input!!!

http://www.tridenthobbies.com/store/merchant.mv On the front page they have what your looking for at a good price. Just be adviced that 1/72 is very large. I dont know were you live, But if your within driving distance from me i would be willing to build and paint it for you. You pay for the kit and all the paints. I have an airbrush set and all the tools needed. Hey Kap tell me about that 688 you got i might be intrested. What scale and is it plastic or resin? And have you applied andy paint yet? |
