If one wants a true challenge go get Arma2, bump up all the graphical options and see how well that runs when there's a few hundred AIs running around in the same city

My card has trouble enough in cities with everything at normal, without AI.

That game eats frames for breakfast.

Can't get ArmA II yet over here. Or at least I haven't seen it for sale.

How are the bugs this go around?

Anyway, I'm still waiting for Op FlashPoint II. That will probably eat ArmA II for breakfast.

Let me remind you of what Op Flashpoint II looks like:

Yeah I've lost my hope in that one already. Looks more like direct competition to COD and the Battlefield-series than OFP, Arma or Arma2.

edit: Oh and there's no OFP2, it's Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising

I was thinking more like MAG. OFP: DR seems to focus on massive scale rather than realism, making it a closer fit to MAG than ArmA.

I'm not saying it's a bad game though, just not what you'ld expect from an "OFP game".

CPU finally arrived: 14317

SM2.0 : 5958
SM3.0 : 5900
CPU : 4800

Not bad for a P35 board with DDR2 running a 8800GTS 512.

I win.

BTW - I have some computer buff / console gamers at work. I now have the full scoop on console games by people that have both. Console games, though the near graphics usually look good, though not as well as the PC, the distance graphics however are not. The graphics in the distance on any console game are dumbed down.

Ever notice why console gamers are not allowed to play online against PC gamers on the same games? It would be a huge advantage for the PC crowd so the two are purposely separated.

I can bet you BTW that Dragon Rising will be a better game / sim all around than ArmA II. It's along the same lines of ArmA. It had similar elements to Op Flashpoint, but it had no soul. You had no bond to your characters and could care less if they died. It was just the freedom I guess that made it soemwhat playable. ArmA II from what I've seen is more the same.

I bet you're wrong.

Arma II is centered (campaign at least) on Razor team, doesn't take long before you get to know the guys and bond with them. No more "3 is down", but "crap, Rodriguez got hit!".

You said it yourself; consoles are at a disadvantage (when it comes to games like this). You only have to look at the crosshairs and command interface in OFP: DR to come to the conclusion that it is intended for console, while Arma II still offers the extended interface (although also incorporating a streamlined system alongside).

Also, the free floating aim is gone there; gun always points at the center of the screen. More proof that the game belongs with "the others", not Arma. From what I see just looking at those trailers, it does not qualify as a sim, and as said before can't even be compared to Arma anymore.

I mean, crosshairs that change color when you aim at someone? FAIL

If you have PC and want something realistic, get Arma. If you have console and want something playable, get OFP: DR. Arma II will come to 360, but I fear it will find no welcome there.

You didn't read my post. The PC versions are always more enhanced for the same game. The console versions just exist to make money. Go play Rainbow 6. Try to target a bad guy far away. Do the same thing on the PC version. Your questions will be answered.

Console versions will exist, but if you want the full world, you need the PC version.

And yes, I have ArmA, so I know a thing or two about it. Here is some vids I took to wet your appetite:

Video's above - full version and downloadable:

http://www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/...030176zWgErbBC

This one shows off the entire island and then some:

http://www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/...243954FpDNdqs8

And if you must ask, I rarely screw up when playing a game. That should be evident from the video's length of time and what was accomplished. All Veoh movies are downloadable in full resolution BTW.

Ehr, are we talking about the same thing? I never implied you don't know Arma or that you screw up.

Thought it was about Arma II vs DR?
