I'm more used to this version: Until I was going to call the 'original' until I read this about the English version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Those_Were_the_Days_(song) Which led me to this story about the original Russian author: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Vertinsky So you have a Russian guy singing a cover of a song made famous by an English girl singing lyrics written by an American to a tune originally written by a Russian. Nothing like a little full circle. You wouldn't by chance be able to post a link to the original, would you.
