What you are talking about is "Open Source Intel".

I'm actually writing a paper up on the Iranian Navy using among other things Google Earth for gathering intel. Five others are also working on different aspects of the Iranian Military.

You miss ID a few of those ships, Those four mini-subs are the Ghadir class boats and the Kilo is correct. But the "Joshan" appears to be a Hendijan class AG, The "Frigates" are Hengam LSTs, looks like 3 Delvars two are munitions lighters, I'm guessing the boat with the square bow is a Nezami Ganjavi LCU, not sure what the boat on the far left is probably just a coastal transport.

EDIT the second pic shows Thoudar PCFGs of the IRGCN. not sure what the smaller ship is, probably just a Boghammer clone.

Here I think you'll get a kick out of this. This is the IRGCN base at
Bandar Mahshar near the Iran-Iraq border.

This is the new Iranian Naval base on Qushm Island

EDIT: If you want to see some neat stuff check out the docks in the northern and southern part of Bandar Abbas. A huge Kharg class AOR is in the south. In the Northern docks you can find the Oiler IRINS Bandar Abbas. and the RO/RO Iran Hormuz 14 (its the big ship with a helipad amidships.

Oh and I forgot look at the north of the naval base at the drydocks, one of the Kilos is in the ARDM with most of its outer hull removed, and the second is under tarps in the dock on shore.

I think it would help to know when they got the pictures from the satellites.

But I used to look at the old russian ports in search for a surviving Typhoon. or something a little more Alfa-like

almost had a heart attack when I found one.

Wikimapia is really neat in the regard that people will tag things like where certain events happened or they will tag a ship and link it to a wikipedia page.

Look in the bottom left. You will see the date the image was taken on.
