Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter will be available in Steam Early Access in a few weeks.

During the development process, we have one main goal - we want to make the best simulator possible. And on the occasion of #ScreenshotSaturday, let us prove it with some cool shots!

Demo version of the game is available on Steam

Great news! I've played the Steam demo quite a bit. I have the title on my Wish List so I'll get an e-mail when it releases. This will be a first day purchase for me.

I am really looking forward for this one.
I do hope the sub behaviour is fixed or different since it is the only part of this game that I believe needs tweaking but I really like the rest of features and options.

In case you wonder about what do I mean about sub behaviour, is the kamikaze attitude of being forced to dive and chaging in straight line towards the convoy at flank, making no effort to lose the escort and raising to persicope depth in seconds, expose the periscope a few seconds and scoring and sinking ships with one torp 100% of the times as long as he can raise the scope. Sometimes he comes to periscope depth when I am just 500 yards behind him, raises the scope 3 seconds, fires, sinks the merchant and evades my attack going deep in seconds.

Not a realistic / historical behaviour but this also be related to the fact that this was a sandbox demo of limites time to complete the objective so the sub is forcing the scenario by attacking this way.
Hopefully this is just a demo issue and the release version comes with a more elaborated and credible u-boat commander behaviour.

Looking forward to it !!

I’m really looking forward to this. The demo shows the potential. I really think the developers are trying to building a quality simulation while balancing marketplace demands.

Will there be a non-steam version available too? I think there should be one from developers website.

One thing I like about the game, it does not have a cheat that tells you "Sub destroyed!" as the game is going. It gives you a tally after the game is concluded.

There are other ways to tell when you're on target.

Actually it does tell you on the tracking board.

If you look quickly enough after a depth charge drop, instead of "Contact Lost" or "Radar/Sonar Contact", it'll say "Sunk by Bloodhound" or similar (can't remember the exact wording).

I got into the habit of checking the board if I saw an oil slick, because 1 or even 2 oil slicks doesn't guarantee the sub is sunk in the current closed beta build the testers have.

Another way to know if the sub is sunk is to look in the tactical screen, the submarine red tracking lines, disapear automatically.
But I have to say that the oil slick is a nice feature and it is nicely implemented.

Just a comment about a previous statement from me regarding the possibility of having information about the convoy Base course and speed.
I have just discovered that information (BC and SPD) is already displayed in the „Contact station“ however apparently it does not update if the convoy maneuvers.
I have just discovered this yesterday and I need to take a look again. I belive the information about own ship also does not update, but in any case I am happy that the developers have already consider this and probably this will be fully operational at a later stage.
