You could check out the BattleOfPhilippineSea.mis file. If you wanted to have a look at the IJN task force well west of Guam (if I'm looking at the right file) I might try 0245 on June 19th @ (137.36W x 13.43N) or at the same time on the same day (136.29N x 12.58N). There are 2 TF's and they split.

But I believe they're tied in to the campaign.cfg file & when your current patrol started. For this battle I think your current patrol has to have started after StartDate=19440301 or the .mis file doesn't load. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

I didn't explore too many harbours in RSRD, yet.

Or would such a thing be completely out of the scope of the implementation of this game ?
Not that I've seen. I've attacked several ships in harbor and have never seen NEW forces arrive, but there are many harbors guarded by DD's and gunboats etc.

I'd like to see more nets/minefields around them like those you find around the atolls in the Marianas & Gilberts, but I'm sure the RSRD crew would have thrown those in around harbors if they didn't cause problems. So I assume putting them around harbors might bugger stuff up?
