Default Good WWII Tank sims?

Although I spend many hours playing my much-beloved SH3, I do get the occasional hankering for other sims.

I used to greatly enjoy playing the various tanks sims from years gone by but the last tank game I bought was Infogrames' "Tiger Hunt".

I've noticed many of the tank games out there are really just RTS-style and I've been wanting a good tank sim that literally puts you in the driver's seat/cupola/gunner-loader positions or just let's you issue commands to your crew while you're doing the commander thing. I'd prefer WWII but any era after this would work for me as well.

I have an older but capable system that can handle almost any games published from 2006 and prior. New games usually exceed my specs.

Any suggestions on where I might find an oasis to slake my thirst in this parched desert of the tank sim genre?

Don't want to be unpolite, but please use the search-button, or look manually, since this forum is not counting high in postings. Questions of WWII tank sims have been asked time and again - and got answered as often. A new WWII tanksim is pending. Panzer Elite is old, but available second hand. SBP is the better alternative to everything out there at the present, and forseeable future as well.

Thank you for your guidance and advice, Skybird.

With the predominance of postings and stickies pertaining to Steel Beasts Pro, I wasn't sure a search would turn up much that was useful to me, especially with an older computer such as mine.

Threads on WWII tank sims are there, trust me. A new WWII-sim is pending, plenty of screenshots and postings on it, at least two long threads, and more threads with questions on it as well. I'm just too lazy too search it for you.

Given this thread, I'd have to say I'm too lazy to search for it myself, either! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info and patience with me, though.

P.S.: I'll take a look-see around.

Damn, the screenies are already gone since then. Go to the developer's homepage.
