Ukraine 2022 - Mission 2
Operation Bold Mariner - Ukraine Mission 2
https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=6307 It's Saturday, 25 February, 2022. Joe Biden is the American President, 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' by Encanto is number one on the U.S. charts and the top movie at the box office is 'Uncharted'. One of the navy's oldest submarines, USS Newport News (SSN 750), has been given 'dispensation' (under the terms of the Montreux Convention (1936)) to enter the Black Sea on the proviso that the submarine surrender her BSY-1 fire control hardware. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, those exercises have been suspended and Newport News is docked at Samsun Naval Base, where the Black Sea Fleet have been told she will be conducting "Independent Exercises". NOTES. This mission is set at the beginning of the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian War. Made with RA 1.50.3 - it should also be 'upwardly compatible' with later versions. Constructive feedback welcome via the Subsim Forums. A big thank you to FPSChazly, ET2SN and Kapitan for their line-marking program, technical advice and testing respectively. Stewy 14 March, 2023

Uploaded the screen shots I took, looking back just wondering I backed in on a different wharf to pick up SOF (which didn't work for me).
Overall a great mission, it is a long one but realistic for sure, I did enjoy doing the under hull on the grisha. Screenshots are here > https://imgur.com/gallery/P92lVru

Good scenario
I appreciate all the time and effort that went into Ukraine 1 and 2.
Very in depth. A few things that I would suggest for Sen 2. One is that the long transit is, well, pretty long. I think it could do without it. One options for scenarios is campaigns with multiple missions. I think that or either starting near the SOF pickup. I spent hours doing the transit at max time acceleration. I stopped often for the message alerts, which were often, not important. Only to find that I didn't make it in time to get the SOF, as the message time ate into it. The trawler while interesting idea, only frustrated me more, in that I had also missed the time and now had no speed. So, I had to start again at the beginning of the transit and wait another set of long hours. Now saving it often AND ignoring all the messages, so I could make it. Honestly, the transit could be just moved to closer to SOF. Once docked in the berth, the SOF never loaded. I was 5 feet from the pier edge. Which now having gone through 2 transits, was particularly annoying. I think the scenario would be helped if it were in parts or just remove the transit. Barring that , overall very good! |

Thanks Lazzar - I really appreciate the feedback and understand what you mean. Thanks for the kind words too!
Kapitan mentioned the SF pickup didn't work for him either - but I did test it. I'll see if I can check it out. Thanks again, Lazzar, Stewy
