Spaxs SH4:Uboat Missions SPEECH FIX
SH4- U-boat Missions Speech FIX v1.0
Introduction: This mod is used to replace American voices from the original stock sh4 and replace them with crew voices taken from Silent hunter 3 so you will have true German speaking crew with the new U-Boat expansion. Installation: Use winrar to extract the folder "Spaxs SH4 Uboat SPEACH FIX" to your MODS folder. This mod is designed to function with the JSGME Mod manger. So just enable it and you should be good to go. After Thoughts: I may be release some sound effects from sh3 such as crash drive and surface the boat in a later release. Thank you and enjoy, Spaxspore SUBSIM.COM Linky- http://files.filefront.com/Spaxs+SH4.../fileinfo.html

Thanks, Spax. I used to use several sound files recorded from the Das Boot sound track CD for things like crash dive in SH3. I never got tired of hearing "Alarm! Fluten!" with the bell ringing in the background.

Are these voices taken from a stock SH3, or from - for example - a GWX-install?

Great job m8. When you dive do you get the US whistle or German ALAAAAAAAAAAAAARM? That's what annoys me more then language

Sorry, but these are not all the stock German language files from SH3 (e.g., "torpedo in the water" is still in english), and some of them have been modded from the original (such as the "new message received" one).
Now, with that said, does anyone have the complete set of stock, original, unaltered set of German voice files from SH3?

Just bought the addon CD, but not installed it yet. What an oversight to use US voices, as if using several voicepacks in a sim is new ground. IL2 has had different speechpacks for the various nations for years! Hope that if/when an IJN/RN/RNethN addon appears, they will include Japanese/British/Dutch speechpacks, or at the very least the possibility to add a community-made speechpack where required.
Downloading Spax's speechpack now............... will use this with JSGME.

Tested three German speechpacks using JSGME: The Spax pack, the original UBI SH4 pack and the GWX 2.0 speechpack. While all three are great improvements, none is fault-free. I get "Torpedo in the water" and "Torpedo impact" rather than "Aal inst im Wasser" and "Torpedotreffer" for instance.
The GWX 2.0 speechpack is the best bet in my opinion as it has "ALAAAAAARM!", alarm bells etc. when crashdiving.
