SHO Silent Hunter Online Captain's Exam

The folks at BlueByte/Ubisoft has given me a fresh batch of game voucher codes for Silent Hunter Online to give out. Here's how it works:

As a fresh Kaleun, you will be asked to demonstrate your knowledge of submarine history, trivia and lore. Every so often I will post an exam question in this thread. The first person to correctly answer the question will receive one SHO voucher code. Edited posts are not allowed as a winner.

You can only be a winner once.

When will the questions appear? At random, unannounced times. As a skipper, you cannot expect your targets to make an appointment to show up in front of your torpedo tubes, and these questions will be just as unpredictable. There may be one a day or 5 in an hour. There will be 50 in all!

How to redeem a code:

1. Go to the SHO website: http://www.silenthunteronline.com/
2. Login with your account.
3. Click on the button “Shop” and in the shop on the button “Redeem a voucher”.
4. Enter the code and click “redeem”.
5. The player receives the following items as soon as he logs into the game:
- 100 Credits
- 5x Torpedo “XI G7es Zaunkönig II (Level 5)”

Rules:

- Every user only can redeem one of the 50 codes. You can win one time.
- After you have won, please do not answer any more exam questions, allow other skippers to win.
- Every code only can be used one time.
- If the codes will not be used, they will expire in June 2015.

Good hunting!
Neal

For true pedantry, I'd say the number is just 96 :-)

And welcome to subsim, dundee101 ;-)

Question 2: What was the name of Sam Dealey's famous submarine. If ya gotta use Google, that's ok but if you know it by heart, be sure to say so.

Default Captain's Exam

Ahoy to all, from the Aussie Bilge Rat? (Landsmen at least I wish.)

Love the Exam, you set up. But I am not on my PC as often as I should.

And, boy do some of you, know your Subs and ships, stuff.

Guess I am just not quick enough.

And I admit, I play Offline.

Was the comedy photo in the Exam, shown worldwide, in it's day?

If not then, buggar.

Operation Petticoat??

Know I am too, late, but no harm having a try?

See Ya.

The deck would be full of coins and the crew of the freighter would scramble to take as many coins as they can since war pay is not making any one rich, thus leaving their posts. This would give me the opportunity to get in position and fire an eel.

Now the fantasy part in my brain hurts...
Wow, that really makes cents! You win!

So, yeah, I could see that as a realism option in Silent Hunter: Remote jammer.... You win!

Picture this if you will. It's a inky black night, I've been shadowing this freighter all day and my deck gun is out and cannot be fixed.... I've used all my torpedoes so I pull along side my target. Being truly sneaky, we scramble up the side of the freighter and quietly kill the crew, one by one by stabbing them to death with the cork screw and smashing beer bottles over their heads. However, we cannot just open the sea-cocks and slip away. So I raid the captain's cabin of the freighter and take a few bottles of his best wine. Thus souvenirs in hand, we scuttle the freighter and escape!
That was very imaginative, I liked it. You win!

I'm sure it could come back to you. If not, use the Red Triangle! You win!
