Watching Das Boot in virtual reality cinema.
I downloaded the vrcinema3D app which is meant for Oculus Rift. (http://www.oculusvr.com/)
So i strapped my headset and for 3.5 hours i was in another space. An empty cinema enjoying my favourite movie on a big screen. The effect was very realistic and i totally forgot that in reality i was sitting in a living room. The only downside was a bit low resolution but HD versions are coming out next year. With HD version the experience will be more immersive. |

Cool idea....but not sure if I like that.
The way the shot is doubled...

That would be better IRL.
It just makes for a bad youtube video.

I have no problem immersing myself in movies simply projected on a screen.
Don't need the new stuff, don't want to pay for it either. As a glasses wearer, I have not found any of the 3D/virtual stuff to be all the comfortable. I find that writing and acting is what bring me in immersion wise, not graphics. But to each his own.
