Default KSDII 1.42 UNOFFICIAL PATCH

KSDII has more contents than other Uboat mod. It has attack disc alone with a large compass. Since it's stop Updating. I have a plan to fix some issues of this mod.

WISH LIST:

1. Correct TDC displays in conning tower and control room for II, IX, VII, XXI, Fix IX CR compass error, All 3 compass in II and XXIII CR rotate wrong direction. (Done)
2. Fix missing AA gun positions and correct their firing arc limit. Preserving Searchlight and keep it's positon as A02 witch could be activated in deck command bar with the mod icon. (Done)
3. Deleting the nonexist AA guns and their Crew slot for early type of VIIC and IX.(Done)
4. Make a new RAOBF with larger view and calibration in mil. (Done)
5. Fix speed control of all playable ship and get their snokel depth correct , add a icon for snokel depth. Deck awash depth only works with ship without snokel , set to 8 , the game engine float the boat any depth below 8.(Done)
6. Correct the speed and range in sim file according to historical data. Submerged range based on historical data, surface range ×1.25 to compensate map projection like GWX. (Done)
7. Early campaign in XXI from start of 1944.1.1, add coating to it.(Done)
8. Torpedo wake alternative (Done)
9. Strengthening thermal layer effect as they should.(Done)
10. Fix the missing Turm9c_3 conning tower(Done)
11.Fix emblems info and note. (Done)
12. Other Localisation fix. (Done)
13. Late war VII XI XID2 PPI radar display, ajust the both Ascope, PPI radar camera to see the direction wheel. Hide radio operator while manually using radar in XXI. (Done)
14. Found XXI, XXIII have no voice sound in cabin, found the fix. Fixed XXI, XXIII crew and equipment display(Done)
15. Fix CTD zoom in Pen external view. (Done)
16. IXC40 propeller rotation bug. (Done)
17. Fixed Loading ctd near port. (Done)
18. All crew cabin rework, it's a mess. Compartment don't match zone, crew has no efficiency. Edit Zones and upc (Done)
19. Add emblem slot to XXIII(Done)
20. Fixed XXIII engine sound at front in hydrophone. (Done)
21. Fix hydro, dive plane and rudder data.
22. Add larger Bino View (Done)
23. Do not be near wolfpack, they will make your save file corrupt make hydrophone and telegraph unusable.
24. Convoy contains invalid ship class. (Done)
25. Gyrocompass Bearing upside down. (Done)
26. Reduce initial crew level.(Done)
27. Fix IX diveplane gauge display, add new depthmeter to VII IX (Done)
28. Fix max detph (Done)

I've fix the IID interior TDC, at first it look like this. The digit display in bearing and the labers turn to black.



But in S3d you can see they have colors



But after applying Ao ,they disappeard



So I added ao for two material , and readjust the UV. They came back.



But now I come to another problem
It's the speed indicator in window of speed setting. It has color for sure.



It lacks AO, so I added one to it. And adjust the UV to bright part of map, change ao texture.



But it still shows black with Ao display. And it's wire frame is purple, I'm not familiar with the S3d's definition, is it normal backward or something. vertex normals inverted? So someone could offer a help?


The file is KSDII_Ace_Edition\Data\Interior\NSS_Uboat2\NSS_Ubo at2_CT.dat

the node with problem is "com_torp_speed_value_CT"

PS. I inverted the face normal, still black.

I' having some progress, I found all purple polyframes are transparent. by turning on disable z-buffer write , and delete the ao map. It showed some color but still very dim, So something still wrong there.

Problem solved! You must save to see result of transpanrent material, still need to apply ao , a brighter one. An control room tdc also fixed.



I think I've done for the day.

I am glad to see that there are still people interested in the project. Sadly I don't have much time to spend on modding lately. Also got tired of tweaking the escort sensors. I never could get them right

It's a good mod with detail. Now I encountered another bug cause ctd,



1, whenever I move camera close to these people on AI sub in external view it ctd. I tested in several bases they all act the same. I guess there is a missing sound file connecting to these people or the officer in front of them. I've seen these guys in other mod and they do not cause trouble. So which file controls the objec?



found the model, delete it and still ctd when zoom in. checking sound file, find the fix, there is a SpeechKaleun node has conflict. Delete the node everything goes fine. But I found a KaleunSpeech.wav in Sound. Want to find a way apply the node. the harber_kit.dsd has connect the node correctly to KaleunSpeech.wav like in DW mod. But that won't cause ctd there. Is there a sound file loading limit that would cause ctd if have too many sound files applied? Found why this phenomenon happens, wourth a new topic.

2, You cannot move torpedo into your sub storage from base.You can only move torpedo from the tube. Something wrong with menu_1024_768.ini? DW's menu works fine, so need to find where goes wrong.

3, And the game can not normally exit, it ctd when quiting, downloading file from the google drive twice.

4, And I'm trying to fix the IXC40 propeller thing. I check the model axis and zone, identical to IXC. the problem is the animation. It shear the model and rotate clockwise for 180 then counterclockwise for 180 back and forth. If only know what file contains the animation there is solution. Found the fix.
