I give up
After years of playing SH III GWX, then SH IV, at various levels of difficulty, I find SHO to be totaly unreal & utterly lacking in user info.
Every game needs a tutorial, but SHO has a totaly different set up & way of doing things, that is like sticking a fishing boat skipper into the position of battleship squadron commander, shove it, I'm off back to my Gato class in the Pacific. |

It seems that now we have to make our own games. Well, Wolves of the Kaiser seems really promising - way ahead those new SHs.

They never made any secret of the fact that the target audience was the browser game crowd, not the hardcore subsimmers. If they made it just for us there would be no chance of it ever supporting itself. The problem is that the usual gamer isn't interested in something that requires patience and planning, and even the most simple sub sim needs a little of that. It's probably quite difficult to come up with something that will please everybody, especially in a genre like this.
