Sonar detection
How does submarine's speed affects sonar detection? Is sonar contact more unprecise or sub more likely to have chance to disengage, if submarine is moving slower underwater (i.e. she generates less noise)? Or is submarine's speed completely irrelevant and it's better for her to stay at flank speed for better maneuverability?
I wonder if "silent running" tactics are making any impact in the game or should I only wait for depth charges' explosions which interfere with sonar and may give chance to disengage.

The only factor is depth. Deeper you are the closer you can be to an escort and still be able to disengage.
