Can standard user access the document folder of admin with UAC on highest setting?

I thought a standard user couldn't access Admin document folder but now it seems that standard user can actually open Admin type user document folder(My music and all).


Or is it? Thanks.

Depends really what access privilidges a standard user has/is given.

When you’re logged on and UAC is configured with its default configuration your user account always runs with non-admin privileges (even if your account has administrator privileges). When you run a program or change settings that require admin privileges UAC steps in and asks you if it’s OK to pass your admin privileges along with a UAC prompt.

If you are logged on using a Computer Administrator account, Windows just asks you to consent to running the program. However, if you logged on using a Standard User account, Windows can still run the administrative program—the UAC prompt asks you to select the username and enter the password of a Computer Administrator account.

Thanks Freuer but I don't think it answered my question. I was askng whether Admin document folder is accessible to standard user without having to type in admin password.

For some reason I thought standard user need to type in the admin password when trying to acccess admin's document folder but now it seems they dont have to anymore in my system. I can view admin's document folder without having to type in the admin password(No UAC prompt)

The standard user is set to highest level of UAC(top most)

Well I found out the C:\User\[administrator type user] folder is shared! hence it can be accessed from standard user account.

Something is wrong with your setup.

I have UAC fully turned off (I hate the stupid thing turn it off unless you dont know what your doing) And yet a standard user cannot access the administrator documents or any folders from my admin account. It comes up stating you do not have permission to access this folder I can see all the admin folders available but I can't open them.

UAC has nothing to do with it. As I mention I have UAC fully turned off and standard users can't access admin folders nor is any of my admin folders shared.

Yeah indeed not surprising.

Sometimes when I'm running full screen program it would suddenly drop to desktop. One of my suspicion is that someone just connected into my desktop. CIS, Avira, Malware bytes would reveal nothing. I can always point my finger at Harry Lee's little arrogant Singapore. LOL. If it wasn't them who cares at some point it was definitely them and they deserve such a bad publicity and name.

Man in power when goes unchecked and never held accountable are slaves to their desires and lust to dominate and subjugate other people for the pleasure of their ego. The worst kind of people one could ever imagine since his deeds not only go unpunished but supported and repeated. I've found 10 rootkits 2 of which can't be deleted.

All gone now or so it appears. But I wouldn't trust COMODO that much since it detected its own installation files as rootkits then.

May I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials? Free, fast and with very little footprint.

Also most certainly recommend keeping UAC enabled...
