Default Installation?

Thanks to your guy's advice ive finally ordered the Graphics card (GeForce GTS 450) and PSU (Ultra LSP550 550W).

Now.....once it gets here......How would i go about installing it. My dads coming over for a couple days and he Knows How to physically Install it, BUT i wouldnt know how to set up the graphics card.

Radeon 3200 (Fail) is an onboard Graphics Card. Therefore, Id have to disable the onboard and enable the GTS 450. How exactly would i disable the onboard?

And, Once my computer Restarts and starts using the GTS 450, what next?
Im assuming the computer would display a bunch of set up messages and such?

Then, Wouldnt it be a not-so-smart choice to immediately Crank up the Graphics to ultra and Game for 8 hours? What would be your reccomendation for breaking it in?

Thanks

Default

Place the PSU and connect it to everything that needs power. Plug in the graphics card and plug in the PCI-e power connector at the back, if it has any.

Boot into windows as normal, the system won't care about a different card. Install driver and game away.

Some things to do beforehand though: uninstall the drivers for the old card, and disable it in BIOS just before or after you plug in the new one. I can't tell you exactly what to look for since it's different in every BIOS, but there should be an option that lets you disable the onboard graphics. If you have the motherboard manual it should get you sorted quick enough.
