First Time Coldwaters - Play it stock or go straight for Dot Mod?
Been away for a while due to giving up the 9-5 grind and moving country which didn’t allow me to devote any time to campaign games.
Is it worth playing Cold Waters as it comes out of the box once for a newbie or should I go straight to Dot Mod? |

I installed dotmod specifically for the ability to play surface ships.
If your only interested in operating subs then I don't think its necessary Take a look at the list of numerous features and changes that dotmod brings and I think you will be able to make that choice. |

You should definitely install dot mod. Double the possibilities of the base game. And it’s constantly evolving. That’s my modest suggestion. Greetings!.Marcelo

I would say play without mods first, before you decide whether you really need a mod to enjoy the game.

I've played CW since its release with no mods installed and I enjoy it immensely. YMMV.
