Playing with changing own sub characteristics
I'm trying to preconfigure my preferred weapons layout so that I don't have to change the default load at the beginning of each mission.
See the vessel.txt snippet file below: [Weapon Systems] TorpedoTypes=usn_mk48_adcap,usn_moss,usn_ugm84,usn _tasm,usn_tlam TorpedoNumbers=20,4,8,8,8 TorpedoTubes=8 NumberOfWires=8 TubeConfig=1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 TorpedoTubeSize=26 TubeReloadTime=45 I assume the TubeConfig is supposed to reference the TorpedoTypes line above it. Changing 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 to 1,1,1,1,3,3,2,2 or anything else for that matter doesn't seem to have any effect. Am I making an incorrect assumption regarding the purpose of TubeConfig? Also the vessel description elsewhere lists the Hull number as USN-21 however changing HullNumbers=TRUE doesn't change the view of the sub in 3D view - ie no hull numbers visible. I'm either doing something wrong, or a bunch of config choices don't seem to work. Suggestions? |

TorpedoNumbers is what I think you are looking for.
As it is in your posting, your sub will carry 20 x ADCAPs, 4 x Moss, 8 x Harpoons, 8 x TASM, and 8 x TLAMS. The SSN-21 class can carry 48 of combined total. For me, and just as an example, I changed mine to 40, 2, 0, 6, 0. If I need TLAMs, it lets me go home to get them. The TASMs are just for support ships that have gotten to far away while I was dealing with the escorts. The game isn't all that variable in its missions and torpedoes are pretty much a kill shot. I use those mostly. |

Actually what I am trying to accomplish is to have my 8 tubes pre-loaded when the mission starts. I would like tube 1- 4 to hold torpedoes, tubes 5 & 6 maverick missiles and tubes 7 & 8 to be loaded with m.o.s.s.
I am assuming this is what the tubeconfig is supposed to do, but I can't get it to work. All 8 tubes are always loaded with torpedoes. |
