gets me: USAS American Mariner: also nicknamed Hannibal after an old target vessel...currently scuttled but visible in Cheasapeake Bay..? Used as target practice. The hull was used for target practice by naval aviators flying out of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, until at least 1971. Her hull is still visible in the Chesapeake Bay, at 38°02′25″N 76°09′17″W, roughly midway between Point Lookout and Smith Island.
