As the game stands, that is like 1400-1600 yards - rather close in if you don't manage to shoot down the plane, cause a bomb-drop there results in a "hit" on your sub... But we have it much better now, but we just want to get it as good as we can before release. :

You should be getting 4000-7000 yard range out of a 20mm at elevation.
