I dropped the steam version altogether and got an original CD 1.5 with add on missions. Read on this forum hints for install, so made a “game” folder outside of program files. Cleaned as much as I’m familiar with out of the old locations. I run an Asus gtx 1080 ti and asus 1080p gaming monitor. I run LAA for increased memory. I didn’t have to run compatibility mode before, but do run as administrator. I’ll try some of your suggestions in properties. It’s strange that it worked for a couple weeks, then the logo showed up again. Graphics in game is the highest of the highlighted (1920x1080 60 fps) any higher frame rate caused garbled fine print.
