I didn't mean to insult you ... I apologize.

It's just that in ten or more years here it was a rare thing to see.

I am an enlisted man and you sir are an officer and enlisted men should not chide officers (unwritten submarine manual)

Thank you for anything i WON wow!

Which reminds me of a sea story: It was a normal patrol in the south China sea on a calm night on the nuclear submarine
Ethan Allen working the night shift as the sonar supervisor when the booming voice of the captain comes over the control room/sonar mic,

"Sonar lay to the conn"

I casually got up shaking the head phones off of me and putting my coffee cup in its holder and wandered out to the conn with a
quizzcal look on my face in the dim glow of red lights in control rigged for red on the night watch.

"Yes sir" I meekly called out

The captain glarling at me announces that his sonar repeater, showing our contacts on a crt rigged in orange, was not functioning.

I reached up and flipped the on/off switch on and stood there watching the contacts on the screen come into focus as the unit warmed up.

The captain who had had his back to me turns around and see's what I have done says;

"Thank you Dillon that will be all"

You could tell it was a humbling experience one I will never forget
