NEW LEAGUE LEADER!
...another change at the top of the ladder..

Week Nine in the Subsim Fantasy Football League, and while the Subsim moderators look at each other like and claim "I didn't see it" the fantasy football marches on with the week Five report eternally on patrol, and not a single moderator bothered to search for it. Tch Tch Tch.

We're probably not in line for the Best of Subsim any more, well, why would we be if a request to look into an issue is overlooked....and remains overlooked, but that won't affect us from giving you the most important news every week....except for Week Five.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM

It was a week of big scores...except for one game where it was a pitiful performance. In England, the Banter Brigade were hosting the Who Dat Nation and this was really a game of "low score wins". The brigade started the match with five (5) players out, and the Nation just had to show up, put some points on the board and cruise to perhaps the easiest win of the season. Final score Who Dat Nation defeat Banter Brigade 102 - 42.

Now that we have that blight out out of the way, lets get down to some real pretend football. Texas, and the Guns of Hochuli showed why they are divisional leaders. Welcoming the Bosses into town, the Gunners were just too strong all round. With Tyreek Hill (RB) scoring over 32 points and Travis Etinne (RB) almost matching that score, this was always going to be a shootout for the Gunners. The Bosses were able to start just as fast with Travis Kelce (TE) but fell over when the rest of the team was asked to put in a standard work day.

Kinda like some moderators. But I digress.

Gunners were incredibly strong and put up a first innings cricket score to ensure that they stay ahead in the race for the divisional #1 seed. Final score Guns of Hochuli defeat the Boss Team 164 - 97.

Now if you were excited by the Gunners score, you should have turned over the wild shoot out on BBC1 with the Helmand Nighthawks hosting the Australian Taipans. Think back six weeks ago and both these team were 1-2 and two games behind the league leaders. They fought their way through some unfavorable match-ups and circumstances, to find themselves battling for the #2 seed in their respective divisions. Nighthawks started 20 point favorites on this game, so if the Taipans were going to get close, they had to come out fast and strong. Hello, Joe Nixon, and welcome to a first quarter onslaught that put the Nighthawks trailing. Austin Eckler (RB) thought he was a smart mouth when he brought the game closer with his 20 points, but they still trailed and were running out of players. Not even a 41 point Hail Mary by Patrick Mahonnes (QB) could overcome the damage down by Nixon and Derrick Henry (RB) who ran the Taipans to their biggest score of the year so far, and a much needed win to elevate them in consideration for the Championship round - if they can replicate. Final score, the Australian Taipans defeat the Helmand Nighthawks 177 - 141.

We're nine weeks in and just two weeks away from the longest weekend of the year, but there is till time for all teams, every team, to turn their season around. For some, the clock is limited thought.

The low scoring win by the Who Dat Nation gives them sole ownership of the league lead at 6 - 3. They are about two and a half games away from eliminating the first team from the playoffs.

Behind them is a four way log jam of team at 5-4. The Guns of Hochuli take the second seed and the divisional lead on a count back to the Taipans. The Nighthawks leapfrog the Drunk Monkeys into 4th on their divisional count back, pushing the Monkeys back to 5th.

The Banter Brigade at 4-5 come in at 6th while the Bosses and the Black Cats bring up the rear at 7th and 8th respectively. The Black cats need to keep an eye on their loss column for as divisional rivals to the Who Dat Nation, while the Nation continues to win, by what ever margin it is, the Cats are looking at being the first team eliminated.

Our camera equipment gets to stay in England for one more week as our Match of the day next week is the Helmand Nighthawks hosting the Guns of Hochuli. The line in Vegas on this game is so close that if you sneeze it could swing the other way. The Nighthawks need the win to catch the Nation while the Gunners need the win to stay in front of the Drunk Monkeys and the Australian Taipans. two powerhouse high scoring teams come together in London...cause we moved some other piece of crap game to Munich.

Each week, (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

Open the record books folks, you may never see the effort again that we saw this weekend, producing the single largest score in the history of Subsim Football. For the effort of 153 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns, 4 reception for 58 yards a touchdowns for a total of 61.10 points, the Week Nine MVT goes to Joe Nixon (RB) of the Australian Taipans.
