WHO DAT LEADING THE LEAGUE?
...the Nation, Dat's Who!.

Week Four in the Subsim Fantasy Football League, and we are one quarter f the way through the season. We've got a change in league leader, a change in the league cellar dweller, and a past champion who gave everyone a two game start coming on strong.

Who Dat we talking about? We're talking about the greatest selection of fake believe coaches in the modern world, putting together their best manufactured season ever. But if you want to know all the details of this, you're going have to wait for one message first.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM.

We have a new league leader! After the shock of losing in the opening week, the Who Dat nation stay at home in Oregon this week and welcome the Australian Taipans on their "shortest" away game of the season. The Taipans looked to have corrected their wayward start last week with a win and while coming in as the underdogs, the program for the weekend had the Nation list D'Andre Swift, who was on a requested day off this week. Playing a man down didn't sop the Nation as they rolled out Thursday night as they rolled out Joe Burrow (QB) and Te Higgins (WR). The Taipans were playing from behind all match and were closing in, until, the Nation unleashed T.J. Hockenson (TE) for 45.90 points, the seventh largest score ever at that position. Shut the gate, the Nation put their third consecutive win on the board and suddenly, they look like the championship team that has won the league. Final score, Who Dat Nation account for the Australian Taipans 150 - 112.

Our Match of the Day this week was in the Carolina's where the Black Cats were hosting the Guns of Hochuli. The Gunners had jumped out to a one game lead over everybody and were threatening to run away and take the #1 seed. Not so fast, the big fluffy cats put their claws out and began tearing up the Gunners arsenal. Systematic playing their strengths the Black Cats methodically stretched forward leaving the Gunners with an impossible task on Monday night for Mat Gay (K) to kick 40 points. Not going to happen. Black Cats stop the Gunners from running away with the league, pulling them back into the scrum of the league with a convincing 162 - 111 win.

Lets go to the late game being played in England this week where the Helmand Nighthawks were hosting the Banter Brigade. With another game being played at Totenham the Nighthawks had the pick of the English fans as they flocked to Wembley for the local derby. The Brigade were actually 2-1 before this game while the Nighthawks were 1-2. There had been some whispers around the league that this was the year that the Nighthawks wouldn't make the play offs. Who said that? Not me. Of course the Nighthawks are going to be in play when we talk of the post season having won more championships than any other league coach. When the Nighthawks get behind they rely on the knowledge of Mister Chris to soar high. The soared but it took them until late Monday night and needed Deebo Samuels (WR) to cross before they were finally able to sneak in front of the Brigade. The Brigade put up the fight but a lack of performance from Allen Robinson (WR) while playing San Francisco (DEF) always meant they the two would be taking points off each other. Helmand Nighthawks glide past the Brigade and win the match 146 - 138.

New to the league this year are the Boss team, also based in merry old England. The Bosses were hosting the Drunk Monkeys this week, the best damm 2-12 team ever. The Monkeys were ready to play, somewhat historically inaccurate for this team that struggles without a Coach who vanishes in the first week. Amon St Brown (WR) was a non starter this week and the Bosses send out a message to Antonio Brown, former WR who was on holidays in a Dubai hotel. Brown said he was busy with some booty, so the Bosses started one bum less. The Monkeys got together and for the second time this season post a high score. Could the Monkeys be making a ghost run to the post season? Stick around and find out. This week however, the Drunk Monkeys serve notice against the Bosses 154 - 108.

So with all that, we're do we stand in the league.

The Who Dat Nation inherit sole possession of the league lead with a 3-1 record. They have quietly recovered from their first week loss to show strength in the first quarter of the season. Behind them however, six team are locked together at 2-2. While it's early days, we're already using count backs to break the ties. The Guns of Hochuli hold the #2 seed, the Bosses are at #3, the Drunk Monkeys #4, Black Cats #5, Brigade #6 and the Helmand Nighthawks at #7. Bringing up the tail are the Australian Taipans at 1-3 in #8.

Early days yet and the scrum of teams at 2-2 kinda compacts the league into a two game spread between first and last, but, what it does it puts the Helmand Nighthawks within one game of taking the league. Look out, the Nighthawks are coming.

We're going back to Texas next week for our Match of the day when the Guns of Hochuli host the Who Dat Nation. the #1 and #2 teams of the league are within a game of each other, and this game in particular has divisional implications for other teams. Neither team can afford the loss , but someone is going to come out of the week with an L. And when they do, we'll be there to report all the fake believe facts.

Each week, the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

I told you they were coming, and here they come with their first MVT of the year. For the effort 67 yards and 2touchdowns, and 6 receptions for 49 yards and 1 touchdown, for a total of 34.90 points, the Week Four MVT goes to Austin Eckler of the Helmand Nighthawks.
