U-45 on her second war patrol encounters two auxiliary cruisers escorted by a Hunt class DD heading southbound in AM34.

Four torpedoes are fired at the lead cruiser, three find their mark. She sinks soon after.

However, the DD gets a bead on the U-45 and sinks her with a depth charge barrage.
