1936 - The British Union of Fascists attempt to march through London led by Oswald Mosley, at Cable Street in Tower Hamlets the march was halted by a mass of anti-fascist protestors, a mixture of Jewish, Communist, Irish, Socialist and Anarchist groups joined forces in what would become known as the Battle of Cable Street.
