Those are the subs for H.sie's wolfpack patch and are part of it's documentation. Stiebler's are a separate item which are part of NYGM and are found in the .rnd file. It is an easy job to add them to any SH3 installation.
H.sie's are called in to attack via contact reports. Stiebler's are attached to a few convoys in the .rnd file and attack when the player enters the convoy's 3d bubble, though there are no solo attack reports generated from it or H.sie's either.
Since ivanov seemed to say he didn't call in this attack (seemed surprised by it and mentioned Stiebler) the ai subs didn't seem to have been H.sie's hence my .rnd file comment.
Maybe I misunderstood Ivanov's post.
Maybe by "report of a solo attack" he meant that was the reply he had to a contact report he sent which can happen with H.sie's patch, but then no H.sie ai subs would have attacked and someone did..
