0003 - Entering approach path escorted by own A/C. The entire time, several FuMB and Magic Eye Detections - seem to be 2-3 A/C.

0520 - Morning Dawn.

0629 - Sunrise. Weather and Sea unchanged in 4 days and 2.5h.

0722 - Radar Detection with Surface Vessel in 70°true; E=7500. It is our escort. Wind and Sea subsiding somewhat, weather is clearing up.

0735 - SE7/6, decreasing, shifting East, partly cloudy, light haze, visibility 3.5nm, >1000mb.
Taking on escort (1 Escort Destroyer und 3 R-Boats); Bf110's continue to patrol approach path.

0836 - Course 110°.

1200 - Qu.9234BF - Days Run: 228.0nm - ↗ 228.0nm (24h)

Starting repair of Flak guns.

1325 - Patrol boat (M-Boat) on opposite course to our port beam.

1419 - Course 135°. Flak guns repaired. Three 3-Mast-Schooners are patrolling the Gironde Estuary.

1533 - Qu.9341BF - Course 140°. Entering Bordeaux.

1615 - Making fast in the Box. Mooring boat.

Clearing out of boat and placing boat in dry-dock.
Crew standing by and guarding the boat during the shipyard time.

Cmdr.: Upon arrival in Bordeaux received word that RAF bombers conducted a raid on Kiel during the night and that Soviet troops launched the Taman Offensive Operation in an attempt to push our troops out of the Taman Peninsula in the Caucasus.

Totals of 1st leg of the 1st war patrol with U 115 (17th war patrol overall):

- Torpedo hits: None
- Torpedo misses: 4 T-3/Pi39H on fast Escort Carrier at great distance and in medium-heavy swell.
- Torpedo failures: None

- Crash Dives: 18 from airplanes (mainly in Iceland Passage)

- Depth Charges/Fliebos: 80 from airplanes (one from warships). The Bold-2 was not deployed.

Pressure hull: 95% (Accumulated damage: 5%); Safe Diving Depth is now 218.5m (historic specification max.230m x 95%); Honour points: None (Accumulated: None)

a) Major General Theo Osterkemp is appointed the commanding officer of Jagdfliegerführer Sizilien and charged with safeguarding Axis flights between Sicily and Tunisia, while the Allies launch Operation Flax, a concentrated effort to destroy Axis capability to supply Tunisia by air.

B.d.U.-Report:
a) U 648 (Ob.Ltnt.z.S.d.R. Peter-Arthur Stahl) arrives at Kristiansand for Fuel and Fresh Water Supply.

B-Dienst Report:
