Danke sehr! It was incredibly fun to write, I'd love to do more. I missed out on AOD when it was first released (started subsimming with SH2 and SH3), so I am making up for lost time. Needless to say, both SH2 and SH3 are off my HDD while AOD remains. It just *works*, runs incredibly well and I honestly think the graphics aren't that bad at all. The damage modeling is one of my favorite parts of this sim. In one patrol, I had a wabo take out my bilge pumps, jam my bow torpedo doors, bent my propellor shaft and flood the majority of my stern compartment...amazingly, I survived and surfaced only to have my Chief inform me that we would burn the motors out if we used them! I had to radio BdU to send out a milk-cow for repairs and a tow back to base!

The game's sheer unpredictability makes it a joy to play. I truly feel like a UBoat captain...if it happened in real life, it will eventually happen in this sim! Not to mention a dynamic and real-time BdU coordinating wolfpacks, update reports from other uboats, insanely large convoys, human-like escorts.....heck, I even love seeing my men stand at attention on deck while we return to port with our victory flags flying on the line

With that being said, I would absolutely LOVE a resolution update. I heard CAOD takes care of this, but sadly it won't run under my XP install (even with compatibility mode set to '95). Gives me a "not enough free memory" error.

I'm practically throwing my money at the screen waiting for someone to update this gem.

Imagine how awesome multiplayer would have been with this sim and BdU....
