study the historical shipping lanes map and then go get them.
as pointed out in the past, you will not see regular, large, escorted convoys as in the atlantic....3-4 ships or singles was the norm for the IJN.

There are mods with shipping routes for TMO and TMO with RSRDC. In RSRDC the convoys are heavily scripted in the campaign (means they are previsible).
This maps are activated with the radio button.
