To best de-clutter the ship's journal from all double messages and other nonsense I do not need, and what would be the best settings/how I could make it so not all messages are logged and saved.
I know one can manually delete all double entries in-game but that takes up a lot of time and it also gives problems when new messages arrive. I do not know exactly what the function buttons under the journal viewer do;
"each new entry will be saved to the ship's journal file"
"Each new entry will be shown in ship's journal"
"Each new entry will be shown in message box"
Since if I shut these down I am not sure what will and what will not be saved, shown or kept.
So do I use the ship's journal editor when out of game?
I know how to use ofev to change Uboat number et cetera, I am just trying to get rid of all this useless nonsense (see image) to make the file smaller so it takes less load and save time when entering/leaving the game.
