So following that I made three
First Contact rifles from Rodd.com kits with added phase modulator parts.
One of these gets the Rodd.com electronics and the other two I made up using some circuits boards meant for another prop plus added 750mW red lasers which are strong enough to melt plastic.
They've got belt winders for the slings.
Lot's of fussy Dremel work.
The rifles have a ten segment bar graph as a power meter so I used one to make a lens for the display board which uses two rows.
