On May 3rd, nine people have been killed in a school shooting in Belgrade, Serbia, eight of them students. The alleged perpetrator had planned the shooting for at least a month, including which room to target. He also made a list of priority targets.

The perpetrator entered a hall, drew out two pistols and shot a security guard before proceeding to a classroom. There he killed eight students and injured six other students and a teacher, then returned to the floors where he was eventually arrested by the police.

According to Serbian law the perpetrator cannot be charged - he's just 13 years old. The two pistols were his father's, who owned them legally and who had trained his son how to shoot on a shooting range. Both parents have been arrested as well.

Like almost everywhere else in the world mass shootings are very rare in Serbia, with this shooting being the fourth mass shooting in the 21st century.
