I'm certain that your question was understood and answered. But here it is again.

HMS Hood
Speed: 29kts
Fate: Sunk in combat with Bismarck during the Battle of the Denmark Strait on 24 May 1941

HMS Repulse
Speed: 31.7kts
Fate: Sunk by Japanese air attack off Malaya on 10 December 1941

Yamato
Speed: 27kts
Commissioned: 16 December 1941


So yes, the Hood and Repulse "could" outrun the Yamato. But, as mentioned before, it's a moot point as both ships were sunk before Yamato was commissioned.
