Shouldn't need to use a computer as a gateway now, and the router should hand you an IP so using the network settings in auto will be fine.
Reset all networking to automatically acquire, it wouldn't hurt the flush the DNS (IPconfig /flushdns) then do a renew (Ipconfig /renew). Then I would check the web browser to make sure the connection setting is not pointing to a proxy.
