I belive the correct description may well be "Japanese Type-C Escort Vessel No. 1 sinking in Taiwan Strait south of Amoy (Xiamen), China, 6 Apr 1945, having attacked by US B-25J (44-29600; 2Lt Francis A. Thompson) of 499th 'Bats Outta Hell' Bomb Squadron of 345th 'Air Apaches' Bomb Group".

I can't remember where I found that picture in the first place but they said something different. Your idea seems to be the correct one though. Would that mean that the wake is from an airborne torpedo? Sorry about the mistake.
