Yes, that Island is actually called Negros. Negro in Spanish means black. There is a tribe of natives there known as Negritos, or little blacks, who played hell with the occupying Japanese during the war. The story is they were so stealthy they would sneak into a Japanese barracks at night, kill the sentries, and slit the throats of every second sleeping soldier, so the survivors would would wake up and find they were the lucky ones. Maybe tomorrow night not so lucky. Sleep well, enemy soldiers.
