radar MOTHERLAND I MOD

Historical context:With the intention of replacing the obsolete American submarines of the Balao Class of its fleet,in May 1975 the Spanish government signed a contract with the shipyard Bazan of Cartagena (Spain), for the construction under license,of two French Agosta design submarines and a second pair in June 1977.The four were builts with some French tecnical assistance.In 1983 the first two ships of this series entered service,the «Galerna S-71» and the «Siroco S-72». In 1985 the «Mistral S-73» and in 1986 the «Tramontana S-74»,last of its Class.On June 2012 the «Siroco S-72» was decommissioned and the «Mistral S-73» was discharged in 2021.

Siroco (S-72)
Mistral (S-73)
Tramontana (S-74)

Order prior to the "Battle of Los Pozos" that took place on June 11,1826 in the Rio de La Plata,in front of the city of Buenos Aires, in an area of relative greater depth and to the view from the population. Was a combat between a flimsy Argentine Squadron and the powerfull Brazilian Empire Fleet.It was a victorious day for the Argentine navy.William Brown was the first Admiral of the newly formed Argentine Navy.Born in Ireland and argentine by adoption.A great patriot.
