Thatīs true, but this bunker is gone completly today.

The Elbe II bunker at the old HDW wharf in Hamburg was partly destroyed by air raids in the closing days of WWII. Three Type XXI boats, almost ready for comissioning, were trapped and scuttled in the damaged bunker pen. They were partly salvaged in the late 40īs and the remains were accessible, during low tide water, up until the mid 90īs.

Today the bunker is completly gone, they tried to blast it in 2001...with little effect...and knocked it down, piece by piece in the following two years. Nowadays is a container storage area, where the bunker was located.

There are still some remains under the waterline, as you can see on the following areal shot:
