Not a single environmental mod. Nothing installed except TM + SP1,2 + RSRD + Patch5.
I figued it must have been due to night and storms. Which on the one hand, I liked that the weather really dampened the ability of escorts to spot me.... but the disparity between what I could plainly see and what my crew could see was a little jarring. Is there anything that can be done to reduce
my visibility so that I can't see anything >1k yards under those conditions? It just sort of breaks the immersion when I can plainly see a ships profile in detail but can't do anything about it.
