Your radar. When you are close to a convoy, like 10,000 yards or less, don't use your radar at all. It is like shining a bright light and telling the destroyers Here I Am. Because they can detect the signal. The best use of radar is to find ships or airplanes at a distance, so you know which way to head. Or for the planes when to submerge.
