...a 'collier' is a vessel specifically for the purpose of transporting coal in bulk...therefore your puzzle's vessel must needs be a collier. If looked up on Google, 'collier' specifically reflects the river Tyne and Newcastle as one of the earliest coal shipping ports with such ships; methinks our resident Banks Line 3rd engineer would have solved it by now!?
