Actually, all 50 states have varying rules regarding high beams and distances but pretty consistent on not blasting people with high beams and it's a law as well as a courtesy.
High Beams
- High beams must be dimmed when approaching traffic is within 500 feet.
- High beams must also be dimmed when following within 200 feet of another vehicle.
