Having replaced my roof and gutters under two years ago, ash from great fires, leaves and new shingle grit caused gutter-downspout blockage ; usually during heavy downpours, requiring me on the roof with an improvised broom handle tool...at great hazard to my wellbeing given my age and the gravity of the 'gabled' slippery slope, ie: falling off the roof which has happened to two carpenters I know...and they were professionals

So today, the gutterman is installing metal-mesh gutter guards on all the gutters and a remedial downspout for an unlevel gutter that overflows in deluges. I'll paint that later.
