The filters in CAWS were meant for low-light ship recognition, though. They probably won't help with the kind of darkness you have in your screenshots.
CAWS only works with NYGM and MaGui WS SA 3.4. But you can take the filter TGA files and add them yourself if you know how to edit menu_1024.768.ini file.
