< what the mazda is doing I do in a 5 speed stick Corolla but that's not for novices. I've been using the road for 30 years for commutes in all conditions.. Deer, road washouts, and clouds/ fog are particular hazards as are fallen redwoods. Twice Truckers have clogged the 'S' curves with their 18 wheelers, for several hours, requiring a wrecker and first responder me to divert local traffic. That boo-boo goes with citations for crossing one-lane weight-limit bridges. Their GPS's mislead them into believing it's a passable route.! I use the DryCreek-Oakville Grade-Trinity Rd route to get from Napa Hwy 29 to Santa Rosa bound Hwy 12; a steep climb and descent in both directions.
