starting October 1, 1939,
sailed out in U-123 (IXB - SH3Commander).
First kill, H.M.S. Nelson (Rodney Class BB).
Then, someone tells me Type IX wasn't available until 1940.
I'm all about historical authenticity...
talk about a buzz kill.
